2024 Kickoff Week Recap!

tre Fall Kickoff 2024.

We’re still buzzing from all the joy and connections made during our Fall Kickoff Week, and we wanted to share some of the incredible moments we’re celebrating as a community! 🎉

Since September 6th, we’ve welcomed over 350 young adults in our doors! And the best part is the joy didn’t stop on Friday night — for an entire week, we celebrated kicking off our year’s programming. Here’s a quick recap:

FRIDAY KICKOFF. From start to finish, the night was filled with meaningful conversations, new friendships, and plenty of laughter. One of the most exciting highlights? So many new faces showed up because of a simple flyer! It was amazing to see our community and tre advocates making everyone feel seen, loved, and welcomed. Simple moments, like grabbing a water for a few new friends or chatting over a shared meal, reminded us of the small but powerful ways connections are made.

SATURDAY. Advocate Takeover Day! Saturday was filled with activities run by some of our advocates, from 7:00a Prayer Painting, to 7:00p Comedy Improv!

SUNDAY. tre Live Prayer Room! tre Live Prayer Rooms are open spaces for young adults to sit at the feet of Jesus and worship the Lord in whatever expressive way He calls you to. Our hope and prayer is to cultivate an environment of spending time with Jesus, and to equip young adults to step into Holy Spirit-led prayer and worship throughout their daily lives.

MONDAY. Bible Talk Panel! For our first Bible Talk of the year, we welcomed in 3 pastors of different denominations (Pastor Zach Ochoga from C6, Father Andrew Thuringer with St. Michael’s and St. George’s, Pastor Layne Nelson with East Side Lutheran), and had an open discussion about various topics! Led by questions from our young adults, Bible Talk is always a time of growth and intentionality to hold space for disagreement in a way that honors every person in the room.

TUESDAY. Young Adult Group Table Talk, Cultivating Godly Relationships! Welcoming in guests Sadie Rinken, Amelia Knuth, and Daniel Newton, Eddie led a Table Talk discussion on cultivating godly relationships, and what that means to believers’ lives. Missed it? Watch it here!

WEDNESDAY. Work + Serve from tre Day! We love getting to create intentional spaces for young adults, to work, to serve, and to connect with one another. This past Wednesday, we launched a new program “Serve from tre Day,” where young adults can engage in a serving project throughout the day. Our monthly opportunity for serving in September is writing encouragement notes to people or businesses that have made a positive impact in their lives. Our goal is to send 100 notes out at the end of the month!

FRIDAY. tre Got Talent! We ate, we laughed, and we cheered one another on in the unique gifts God has given us! Modeling after America’s Got Talent, we had a judges table filled by tre staff members, and we had the best time!

SATURDAY. the Ripple Effect Night! Together with the VOA, SFPD, and Camp POSTCARD, we ate, played games, and connected with one another!

We’re in awe of how God is moving in this space. He is drawing people in, breaking down walls, and opening doors for deeper connection. We’re thankful for every moment, and we can’t wait to see how the seeds planted at Kickoff Week will continue to grow. Thank you to everyone who showed up, whether for the first time or the hundredth!

Blessings ONYA!
