LOOKING BACK, SO WE CAN LOOK FORWARD

Rearview mirrors are interesting. On the one hand, they give you one point of view and one perspective at a time - you can only look back. But on the other hand, they show you the beauty of where you have been and remind you of the journey you’ve taken to get to what is in front of you.

Here at tre, we love to look in the rearview mirror every now and then to see how far God has carried us and where he has shown up in our journey.

Here are a few ways we have seen that happen -

Upper 20s - Here at tre we are always trying to find innovative ways to include each age group that encompasses “young adults”. One of the age groups we wanted to focus on connecting to was those who have entered the workforce but found themself without a community of similar age. Our hope and prayer for this group is that young adults can foster a place of growth outside of their professional life and continue to discover what it means to be a follower of Jesus in a secular workplace.

Sand Volleyball - It might seem silly, but volleyball brings people together. Throughout the last month, we’ve gathered dozens of young adults gather to play and watch our three teams and it has been a BLAST. Community doesn’t have to be sitting in a circle and talking about your deepest fears. It can also include just having fun together and yelling at your friends to hit it over the net!

So now that we have looked back, it’s equally important to look forward through the windshield to see where we are going!!

This upcoming month is all about mission trips! Each year we collaborate with half a dozen youth ministries to provide them with an experience that will hopefully change their lives while also changing the lives of those in various communities. Throughout each mission trip our aim is to help youth groups experience what it means to serve and give without expectation, while also equipping them to learn who they are in Christ. Each of our leaders help coordinate and execute the mission trip in efforts to make it meaningful to both the attendees and the people being served. Through these mission trips we’ve seen people come to know Jesus more, and serve him better. Though we do everything we can in the planning process, we are always expectant and excited to see how God is going to make it more beautiful than any of our plans. He always shows up in amazing ways as we trust Him!

A Note From Sandy

If you could tell the tre family one thing right now what would it be?

“Really take time to trust the Holy Spirit. Trust that He is not just planning with you, but that He’s already planned things for you. And that every plan you make moving forward, he’s just got a better one waiting for you. And if you allow him to take you to His plan instead of your own, things seem to come into alignment and your calling becomes clearer and clearer.”

Pray With Us

Father, as life continues so do our desires to plan our own lives the way we think they should go. Lord, today would you allow us to lay down our own interests and desires so that we can carry your plan for our lives? Would you open our hearts and eyes to see and the big picture that you have put before us? Lord, we ask that you give us the strength each day to lay down our lives, and pick up the purpose in which you have laid before us. Amen.
