D3 Week 2 - Empowering Others
"ME! ME! ME! ME!
Something the world shouts to the mountains only to hear an echo return void.
Today and every day we are reminded that the world is inherently selfish. That everyone is responsible for their well-being and that if you're not doing well it's not our problem.
But what if you were told it is your problem when your colleague is struggling? What if you were told that your encouragement to someone going through a hard time could be the difference-maker the world needs?
You see, each day is an opportunity to build something. You can either build your empire while disregarding everyone else, or you can be like Jesus and bring people alongside you to enjoy the journey.
Even Jesus said the best leaders will be the best servants.
Mark 10:42-45
"And Jesus called them to him and said to them, "You know that those who are considered rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. But it shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."
The world sees the word servant and cringes. But Jesus saw it a privilege to serve others so that they would find new hope and a new purpose.
Jesus knew His people would carry His message to the end of the world so what did He do? He showed them how to act, what to look for, and what to stand for. He was an example to those He knew would carry on His story of salvation.
Not only did Jesus serve His disciples, But He also taught His disciples ways to serve others.
So be challenged this week, this month, and this year to be like Jesus. To lead by example, to teach the ways of God, and to serve those around you so they may fulfill their purpose for their life.
Be encouraged, the way you represent Christ and point them to His plan could be the reason someone chases their calling.
