LOOKING BACK
SPRING BREAK MISSION TRIP | March marks the arrival of spring break for students across the country. While some choose to spend their vacation time unwinding to rest, others opt for a different kind of way to spend their break. This year, a group of 32 young adults from the Sioux Falls area took a trip to Texas for a mission trip that they won’t soon forget! The team spent their time volunteering at local organizations while getting to know the city and the community.
Here are some highlights from our young adults:
“My favorite part of the trip was seeing people open up as the trip went on. At first, people were shy and reserved, but as the mission trip continued you could see people become more comfortable with one another and start to have a lot of fun. Relationships were built, memories were made, and lots of laughs were had. We only got an average of 4 hours of sleep each night but it was worth it!” - Diana
“The highlight of my trip was our time in the car. Over the trip we had 30 + hours on the road which allowed us to get to know each other in a special way. We got to talk about theology, the gospel, how to do healthy friendships, the stories that formed us, and who we are seeking to become.” - Genny
We are encouraged by the team’s dedication and heart for service! Stay tuned for future mission trips/retreats/events hosted by tre!
FRIDAY NIGHTS | We're blown away by the incredible growth we've seen in our Young Adult Nights this year. Every Friday, we're excited to welcome new faces through our doors and create an inclusive, welcoming space for everyone. Our Fridays have been filled with hangouts, worship nights, and tre Talks this semester. We’ve experienced light and laughter while painting, watching movies, singing karaoke, and playing spikeball — and we’ve grown closer with each other and with the Lord as we’ve worshipped and listened to testimonies of His faithfulness.
Check out our full schedule to see more information about our weekly programming.
Looking forward
With the launch of tre701 in Fargo/Moorhead, and as we continue to envision what it looks like to expand to other states and areas, we are so excited to see how God continues to cultivate life-changing community in young adults. To further pursue the call God has placed on our hearts, we have welcomed new team members to our tre family! Be on the lookout for some new faces:
Tim - Business Development
Madison - Director of Content
Riley - Community Engagement Assistant
Genny - Administrative Assistant
VISION BRUNCH | tre hosted a vision brunch for some of the tre family who have participated in our programming and events throughout the year. We sat with Scripture together and then responded to 3 questions from Sandy. The goal was to listen to the Spirit and collaborate insights we discerned. As a ministry we seek to continually be evolving and adjusting to where the Spirit is leading us, to meet needs in the community surrounding us.
A note from Sandy:
I am inspired by how intentional young adults are to be in a faith community, a healthy community. I am encouraged by their passion to love and serve the Lord. I am honored to be in daily conversations on how the Lord is caring for our tre family.
The time in scripture and prayer to refine the vision of tre is how we started almost 5 years ago. As we plan and prepare for tre’s future, we again turn to scripture, prayer and to the Lord to provide clarity to our mission of belonging, purpose and hope.
We are a ministry that continues to focus on His plan and His Word to implement His calling on our ministry. We trust He will equip us as we move into the next 5 years, and we trust that all involved will be blessed.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you for the tremendous work you are doing through tre Ministries and within our community. We acknowledge that our own ambitions and objectives must align with your will and purpose. We are grateful for your gentle hand that leads us and guides us along the way. We pray for continued growth, clarity, and direction in all that we do. We ask that you bless each and every young adult with the hope of the Gospel and with a supportive community where they can feel welcomed and accepted. Thank you for your never-ending faithfulness and love.
